Millville Cemetery Rules

Founded in 1822, the Board of Trustees operates and maintains the Millville Cemetery on Millville Avenue (SR 129) just northeast of the Columbus Drive intersection. The Cemetery began operation in 1822 and came under Township jurisdiction in the early 1900’s. Generally, the Cemetery averages 60 to 100 burials per year.

In 2005 the Township purchased additional acreage to extend the active use of the cemetery for another 40 years. The Board of Trustees updates the Cemetery rules and fees in periodically to keep the Cemetery on a sound financial basis. Grave sites may be purchased in accordance with the following: Hanover Township residents $900.00.00; non residents $1200.00. Please verify costs with Cemetery officials before making final decisions. The cost referenced and certain cemetery rules change from time to time. Please check with the Township to ensure you have the correct information.

A great deal effort is spent maintaining the cemetery grounds. In order to maintain the beauty and character of the cemetery, the Township has posted cemetery rules and regulations (regarding marking and decorating gravesites) on the North end of the cemetery building. If you haven’t driven through the cemetery for a while, feel free to do so. The cemetery continues to evolve and add additional burial grounds, streets and curbing. You may call the Cemetery Office at 513-868-3681 with your inquiries or questions; please leave a detailed message as many times the staff is working in the cemetery. Questions may also be directed to the Township Administrator at 513-896-9059.

There are three other non active cemeteries in Hanover Township. Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery on Reily-Millville Road, the Samuels Lutheran Cemetery on Minton Road ( both of which were established in 1815) and Decamp Road Cemetery deeded over to the Township within the last five years. These cemeteries are maintained by Hanover Township and have been marked by new signs. These cemeteries have been inactive for many years.
